OIC scavenger sketch - my favorite shoe

I love high-heeled shoes! My brown leather pumps from SCHU.
It's not a spectacular-looking pair of shoes, but it's comfortable and high enough!

Hello, Pebbles.

His name is Pebbles - my first wool-felted creature! Completed him over lunchtime with some undyed wool for the body, moss green for little plant growing from his head.

Raw wool can be made into a number of things - a colleague of mine made wool felted bags. I think wool-felting is quite a popular craft in Australia and some european states - they focus more on bags, hats and shawls. The Japanese are having more fun with making little cute animals and creatures. Guess which camp I'm going into.... : )

Anyway, if you are interested in wool-felting, google and youtube the topic. There are some books in the national library that will give you some idea about getting started. If you like making animals and creatures, the books at kinokuniya are a really good resource - whether you read japanese or not.

I got the wool and felting needles from Golden Dragon store in Chinatown. It's a really good place to find craft materials. Happy felting!!!

Bag lady

My colleague bought a really fabulous looking fuschia coloured Miu Miu lambskin bag this week. After a prolonged bout of handbag envy, I went out shopping to look for a bag myself. Got a forest green canvas tote - but it cost two zeros less than her bag! Well - though it can't compare, I have also given that modest green canvas tote an immortal moment on the www with a drawing of it. On the Isetan bag that it was packed into.
Ball point, pencil and a pink highlighter!

Two pages from my sketchbook

Portrait Day May

Missed the June OIC portrait day :(
Found an unsold drawing from the May Portrait Day, and a "test" drawing. Both are ball point pen on brown paper with colour from markers, white pencil and "white-out/liquid paper".

Little boy

Two preliminary drawings for a children's story book - just testing out drawing styles. Most likely using the one at the bottom. More fun for me - with more solid colour blocks possible and more flexibility with brush widths :)
Pen and watercolour.

Poster colours on brown paper (the type of paper they have at ikea for wrapping fragile items heh heh... ) Dropped the text in with powerpoint.
