Adam in green

Sort of still a work-in-progess. Acrylic and paper on canvas. Still feels like it needs something, not sure what yet. Started work on this in HK in 2007, and now he's sealed up in a box with the rest of my half-completed paintings.

Imperfection

This one I call "Imperfection". Acrylic and paper on canvas.
Completed in March 2007 in Hong Kong.

Mark and Mark

Two girls in charcoal

Completed in figure drawing class in Hong Kong. Charcoal on butchers' paper.
Took lessons from Mr Leung from Dragon One in Wan Chai for a few lessons in 2006/2007. He's pretty good with figure drawing, especially drawing women - pastel and charcoal work is effortless and amazing. Oil painting style is traditional but amazing as well.

Long story...ha ha. Read about it at my other blog

A cup of tea and a red flower

My living room in Tin Hau in Hong Kong and the two paintings I did in September 2006. The style is little different from the earlier paintings - more free, but still using paper to add interest. In the paintings I wanted to show the dense urban jungle of HK - but not in a gloomy way. Within in, you can still find your moments of peace. All you need is something to whisk you away from it all - a flower or maybe just a cup of tea :) or maybe just a nice living room. I gave the two paintings to a dear friend in Hong Kong when I left in December 2007.

Dreaming of a kiss - my first painting

This is the first painting I sold - well, actually it was contributed for sale at a charity event. Called "Dreaming of a kiss", it was painted in December 2005. Acrylic on canvas board, with paper collage. The hands need some work - they look like they are in gloves. Hopefully I am better with drawing them today!
